Aug C Yesterda and today witnessed the passing away of two a?ed veterans pf this ward Polly Emcllne Barker died last evening even-ing at 11 o'clock at the heme of her daughter, Mrs Mary A. Garner, whither Rhe had gone for a visit, in her SOth year of a complication of ailments Incident to old age She was a daughter of Newman Green-leaf Green-leaf Blodgett and Sally Mlth Utlov, and was horn In the state of New Hampshire in 1S32 She gTCW up in the midst of early scenes of church history, was baptized by Horaco Bliss, emigrated In due time, encountering untold suffering and privations, common com-mon to tho emigration of the saints in those early davs, and finallv reached Ogden when their only neighbors neigh-bors were tho unwelcome "redman " March 2, 1S51, she became the wife of James Barker, and located in the northeast part of what is now Ogden City, near the site of the old woolen mills, and commcnceJ housekeeping with the moet limited and rude household house-hold furnishings as compared wlih the conveniences of later years March 14, 1S53. the family moved to North Ogden, and located permanently, perman-ently, and reared a large family of the best blood of the communlt Sho leaves a husband in his S5th year, and three sons and three daughters daugh-ters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure Louisa C Shune, widow of the late JameG Wright Shupo, died this morning morn-ing at 5 o'clock, after a lingering ill ness reaching over many months of old age and general debility She was born of Solomen Crabtrce and Malinda Joplln in the town of Marion. Smith countv, Virginia. She was baptized in the church of Jesu3 Christ of Latler-dav Saints by Howard Coray became tho wife of James W.
