Show WEBER LEADS J. W. Jensen, of the state load commission, com-mission, is in the city in attendanco upon duties connected with the board of state road commission, and he ib unstinted in praise of the Weber county coun-ty commissioners for their attitude on good roads. He says that Weber is the banner county of tho state in thf good roads movement and that It was the first county to receive consideration considera-tion at the hands of the state board. Mr. Jensen's territory embraces Rich, Box Elder, Morgan, Cache, Sum mit, Tooele and Summit counties but he is particularly interested In the Weber county road bulldin? and that he holds up this county to other sections sec-tions of the state as an example. He states that $14,000 of state and county monoy is available for use by the Weber county commissioners be-sldes be-sldes the amount that will be raised bv tho special levy of five mills in the districts through which the state roads of the county will pass. The expenditure of this amount of money, the commissione'r says, on the two great roads of the county will make the Weber roads things of envy to other sections. No section of coun try loses money when it is placed in the roads "The Weber county state road over the mountains to Rich county will be the most picturesque piece of highway high-way in the Intermountalu country and it will furnish a)i impetus for other counties to tret into the spirit of road making Rich county Is going to make a mlchty strong effort to meet Weher county attho border line with a good load. Other counties In my Jurisdiction are becoming much interested inter-ested In state-county highways and there Is no ouestion but that In the course of a few years there will be a great network of splendid roads In Utah." Mr. Jensen has visited Morgan countv and says that an effort is being be-ing put forth to build a splendid road through that county, traversing Weber and Echo canyons |
