Show SWffliN DIES FROfiflJKJORIES Walter Mack, tho switchman who was horriblj' mangled Sunday evening even-ing at the Southern Pacific j'ards, died yesterday afternoon at 1:35 o'clock at the Dee hospital as a result of his terrible Injuries. Until the last moment mo-ment he was conscious and before his death asked those gathered by his bedside to see that the Ordor of Elks take charge of his obsequies. Mack was formerly a resident of Colorado and was a member of La Junta lodge of the B. P O E. as well as a member of tho Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Many of the members of thes organizations visited the undertaking establishment whore the remains were taken to be preparod for burial, and many strong-hearted men of the latter order shed a silent tear for their dead brother, whom they all loved and respected for his pleasant manner and ever-readiness lo help .1 brothor or a friend In distross. An examination of the body showed that the wheels of the car that caused his death had ground his entlro right side from the shoulder down to the foot to a pulp, and the marks of tho wheel flanges showed plainly. The deceased had no relatives in this city, but is said to have a couple of brothers located In tho eastern states. Efforts arc being made to locate lo-cate them and ask their wishes as to the dlsponal of tho remains. The Elks lodge nt La Junta, Colo , was also notified no-tified and an answer In oxpectcd to- day by the local lodge, which has the body now in charge It is probable that the remains will be shipped to La Junta for burial. on |
