Kept in a cago with a pair of South American Ameri-can hyenas which were bolng shown with a carnival and bitten and scratched until ho moaned when any one touched him, is tho experience of a 5-year-old boy, according to the charges of State's Attorney Denn, who caused the arrest of the chlld".i foster-parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Johnston, who are here. The petition peti-tion of the state's attorney says tho child was exhibited by a carnival company In Minneapolis and Iowa in the cage of "grave robbers." When the child was 18 months old, his father fath-er placed him In an orphanage In Omaha. Later tho Johnstons secured possession of him. While the boy was being exhibited In Spring Valley, Minn., the Minnesota labor commissioner com-missioner brought an action against tho Johnstons but they fled from tho state. The mother of 'the boy is Mrs Henry N. Weakley of Omaha. |
