Show TRAIN KILLS AN OLD MAN. Rio Grande passenger Runs Over Pedestrian at Grande Crossing. SALT LAKE, Aug. 7. An unidentified unidenti-fied man, aged between 65 and 70 years, died at the ebergency hospital at 12:50 o'clock this afternoon as a result of an accident on Fourth West and Second South streets this morning morn-ing at 10:25 o'clock, when he was struck by southbound passenger train No. 10, on the Denver &. Rio Grande road. The aged man was attempting to cross the tracks when the train was passing over the street. The pilot of the engine struck him, and hurled him several feet from the tracks. He was picked up In an unconscious condition and taken to the emergency hospital, where Dr. R. W Ashley attended him. The physician found the man had sustained sus-tained se'eral scalp wounds and four or five ribs were fractured It was at first believed his name was Morning, but two men by that name were checked by the police without results Several persons called call-ed at the emergency hospital to see the injured man but none was able to identify him. The remains were moved to O'Donnell's undertaking parlorB. |
