Show BOY WILL NOT BE PROSECUTED Officers of the law at Aurora, Illinois, announce that the twelve-year old boy who shot a prohibition officer in the leg, will not be prosecuted. While conflicting stories may be given out about the occurrence, it seems that a group of prohibition officei-s called at the home of the lad's father and induced him to bring forth a gallon of wine, and all proceeded to conviviality. con-viviality. An unnoticed officer then clubbed the father over the head, and in the ensuing excitement, the mother was shot and killed. The twelve-year old boy, forced to watch the gruesome sight, (which will live in horrible vividness viv-idness in his mind all of his life), of his father with a fractured frac-tured skull and his mother shot to death, seized a gun, pointed it at an officer, and shot. It is interesting to ponder on the future of prohibition; its cause both espoused and weakened by the allegiance of honest believers in nationwide abstience and by corrupt and brutal oficers and bootleg rackateers. However, the boy wnll not be prosecuted for his thoughtless act. i-i |
