Show MINERSVILLE HI SCORES AGAIN SCHOOL OPERETTA CALLS FORTH PRAISE The large, enthusiastic audience that gathered last Friday night at the Minersville school auditorium to witness the presentation of "The Gypsy Gyp-sy Rover" proved a just tribute to a fine performance. The operetta was smoothly and precisely pre-cisely rendered and showed the training train-ing and drilling given to the students of the music department by Director Coffman. The colorful costumes of the gypsies gyp-sies and the ladies' gowns were de' signed, dyed, and made in the domestic domes-tic arts department under Miss Deer-ing. Deer-ing. The scenery was painted by Miss Hallie Murdock. The dances of both principals and choruses, trained by Miss Gates, were well executed and greeted with generaus applause. The stage performance and voices of Sylvia Rollins and DeLos Baker marked them as unusually good' for a high school operetta. The orchestra gave excellent support sup-port and the students gave their second sec-ond performance in Beaver Saturday evening as creditably as at Minersville. |
