Show TOO MANY SIGNS CONFUSING TO MOST TRAVELERS Judging from complaints The Sun has heard several Price motorists register, reg-ister, what this country needs now is a uniform system of highway marking. mark-ing. So many and varied means are used in designating the roads of various vari-ous states that today the autoist is confused instead of aided. No two states or communities seem to have a like system of showing crossings or dangerous curves, grades or narrow bridges. As a result the traveler is kept so busy trying to figure out the meaning of these different ones that he very often endangers his own life and those of any who may be accompanying accom-panying or approaching him. It should not be a difficult matter for the highway high-way departments of our various commonwealths com-monwealths to get together and adopt a uniform one and then put it into operation and stick to it. The saving! in both time and human life would more than compensate for the cost that would arise from such a move. Price Sun. |
