Show Malcolm A. Keyser Favored as Republican Governor Candidate 5 I I : i - s& 4 s N 4 vs Malcolm A. Keyser When nominated, Malcom A. Keyser Key-ser can carry the Republican state ticket to victory, in the opinion of observers in all parts of the state. Mr. Keyser is a successful business man of Salt Lake City and is favorably favor-ably known in all sections of the ' state. He was born in Salt Lake City in July, 1887, is of Revolutionary stock and is vice-president of the Utah Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was educated in the public schools of Salt Lake City, after which he received an A. B. degree de-gree from Harvard. His father was an early pioneer. Some of the outstanding services rendered by Mr. Keyser which qualify quali-fy him as candidate for governor include in-clude his excellent work as a member mem-ber of the state legislature in 1925, when as a member of the appropriations appropria-tions committee he was so deeply interested in-terested in the work of this committee commit-tee that his colleagues called him the "watch dog" of the public treasury. He introduced the bill which increased increas-ed the tax on gasoline from 2 1-2 cents to 3 1-2 cents which has resulted result-ed in making available more money for the building and repairing of state roads. Mr. Keyser was recently appointed a member of the executive committee I of the Utah State Farm Bureau and is j thoroughly conversant with the agricultural agri-cultural problems of the state. He is in no way connected with the campaign cam-paign of any of the candi.lates for the United States Senate or any other office and represents no clique "of any kind. He i.s entirely independent of any alliances. |
