TOO CHESTY America won first place in the track and field events of the Olympiad being held in Amsterdam. But America . lost more prestige than she gained, for there was not much of a margin of victory. This is in vivid contrast to America's Ameri-ca's past performances. American athletes on the ship going to the Olympiad spent much time in arguing which of them wrere going to take first place in the various events, and in their minds, they ran roughshod over any foreign opposition. Too much overconfidence and too much of the braggodocio brought the usual result. Chestiness is a valuable trait, up to a certain point.
