Show Red Cliff Repertory Theatre opens 1975 season Friday night The Red Cliff Repertory Theatre will open their 1975 Season Friday with "The Sound of Music". It is one of Americas most loved musicals with some of Rodgers and Hammersteins 9 v p 'ti) . m: 4. ; 4L beloved music. It's the story of the love and strength of the famous Maria Von Trapp and the beginnings of the famous Trapp Family Singers. Maria is played by Frances Cook, and Captain Von Trapp by Bryce Webb. The following evening, Saturday July 19, will be RCRT's opening production of "Papa Married a Mormon". It is a sentimental comedy of "days gone by." This story of the miners and the Mormons as Papa and Mama knew them is based upon the novel by John Fitzgerald who compiled hundreds hun-dreds of notes about the "little people who built the West." Mama is played by Karla Adams, and Papa by Ken Petty. Later this season Red Cliff will include "Hello Dolly" and "Pegora the Witch" in their OPENING PRODUCTION. Maria and the kids of the production of "Sound of Music" are ready for opening of Red Cliff Repertory Theatre in Kanab. Opening production is Friday, July 18. Performances begin at 8:30 p.m. repertory plays. Red Cliff Repertory Theatre is sponsored by SUSC. The college will show their support on opening night with the presnece of Pres. and Mrs. Braithwaite and many of the schools Deans in attendance. Discovering and nurturing talent, sometimes latent, has long been important at SUSC. Outlets such as the Red Cliff Theatre for student talent of all types are constantly sought at SUSC. Kanab and the surrounding area is a great source of support both financially and through their participation to RCRT. Many of the city and area officials of-ficials will be in attendance for the opening.night. This summer stock theatre is a great asset to them also in that it provides the townspeople and tourists with the opportunity to see the best semi-professional semi-professional plays in Southern Utah. During this last week final work on the theatre has been completed and the company is actively engaged in final dress rehearsals in preparation for opening night. This group has had one month to build sets, landscape theatre, prepare 5231. The Box Office hours are 3-5 daily and 7-8 show nights. Please make reservations early.
