Cos m otology contribute services A unique service is IxMng provided Utah Shakespearean Festival actors by Dale Evans, head of Evans Cosmetology College, Cedar City. For the second year, Mr. Evans is personally providing haircutting and Elizabethan styling for cast members, thereby adding to the authenticity of the Festival productions. Other cast members mem-bers are wearing wigs obtained through Mr. Evans. "When I moved to Cedar City a year ago," Mr. Evans says, "I wanted to become acquainted with my new community, and perhaps do something to help. I was attracted to the Festival, and when Fred Adams asked if I would like to provide this cutting and styling service, I was delighted. Since the Cosmetology College stresses men's hair-styling, hair-styling, this is a good way for me to provide a community contribution, con-tribution, and at the same time let people know what our services ser-vices at the Cosmetology College include." Interaction between the students and actors has been good, Mr. Evans continues. The actors have seemed pleased with the results of the styling, although there were a few reservations at first regarding' the project. On the other hand, Cosmetology students were excited about watching the proceedings, and although they didn't actually help, they did have the experience of observing. ob-serving. Mr. Evans, who has operated his own beauty salon in Richfield for 19 years prior to moving to Cedar City, hopes to continue his Festival participation another year. "Since the College provides full training in all phases of . Cosmetology, including men's toupees and specialized skin care plus a charm and modeling school, the course lasts an entire year, and we plan to be around next summer to help again with the Festival." Mr. Evans states. |
