Show JOSEPH C.FELIX Joseph Felix named to State Board Joseph C. Felix of Cedar City lias been appointed to the Board of Parks and Recreation for the State of Utah for a two year term. ' The appointment was made by Governor J. Calvin Rampton and confirmed by the Utah State at the special legislative session in June. Dr. Felix will represent the Fifth Judicial District which includes the counties of Juab, Millard, Beaver, Iron and Washington. The term is from July 1, 1975 to July 1, 1977. Dr. Felix, who is director of the LDS Institute of Religion at Southern Utah State College, is well qualified to fill this important im-portant position on the State Board of Parks and Recreation. He served as chairman of the Iron Mission Park Commission prior to its inclusion on the State Parks system and worked with the state for a year to assist in the transition to the park system. He is also serving on the local advisory board for parks. Active in community activities he has just completed a term on the Board of directors of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce; Com-merce; he is a past president of the Iron County Historical Society and served as a member of the Board of Driectors of the ' Southern Utah Foundation. Currently Dr. Felix is serving as Bishop of the Cedar Ninth Ward and for many years was Venturer Advisor in the Ninth Ward. Dr. Felix will attend next week, an orientation meeting with the board and with the Governor in Salt Lake City, it is understood. |
