Show I City repairs water line break I A water line in Cedar Canyon which broke early Sunday morning was restored to service Tuesday, it is reported by Cedar City manager Mike Embley. The line went out of service at approximately ap-proximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday and crews from the Cedar City Water Department immediately began repairs. However, once the repair had been completed the line had apparently been plugged with debris that had gotten into the broken line and it became plugged. Efforts continued throughout Monday to locate the plug and the plugged section was identified Monday and final repairs were completed. Because of the heavy rainfall the break did not disrupt culinary service to Cedar City, but the steam plant in Cedar Canyon operated by California-Pacific. Utilities was in a critical situation during the period of time that the line was out of service. Water in Coal Creek carried too much debris to use in the plants system and had an electrical peak occured while the line was out of service it would have required special purchase of power by the utility company.
