Show Thelma Whittaker to head SHEA 76 and will also serve out the term of past president the succeeding suc-ceeding year. - The resignation of Mr. Bennett will not affect the Executive Board members or their term of office. The members of this board are: Mr. Edwin Leigh of Cedar City, Mrs. Barbara Nielson of Leamington, Mrs Carol Penney of Kanab, Mrs. Donna Peterson of Panguitr.h and Mr. Keith Langston of Blanding. Also on the Board are Mr. Garth Penney of Kanab as past president , and Mr. Ron Ferguson of Monroe as president elect. The association's 1277 members mem-bers are from the 16 school districts of Southern Utah plus the Sevier Valley Tech. School in Richfield. In terms of geographical boundaries the area is in excess of half the State of Utah. Members of the Southern Utah Educators Association Executive Board have selected Thelma Whittaker, a Piute High School art teacher to fill the vacancy left when Lyle Gene Bennett of Washington resigned as president of that organization. Mr. Bennett is taking a sabbatical sab-batical leave from Washington School District to work on his doctorate degree. Mrs. Whittaker has served two terms on the Executive Board of SUEA as well as numerous local and state positions. She will assume the responsibilities of the office for the school year of 1975- |
