Show Winter Wheat planted in Utah ' Acreage seeded to winter wheat in Utah this fall is estimated at 250,000 acres, according ac-cording to the Utah Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. This is about the same as a year earlier but 3 percent less than the 1974 level of 259,000 acres. Soil moisture during the fall was adequate for planting and germination ger-mination of wheat acreage jn most areas of the State except the extreme Southeast. Reported winter wheat condition on December 1 at 33 percent compares with 78 a year ago. Based on December 1 reported condition production is forecast at 6,000,000 bushels compared with the 1975 crop of 5,712,000 bushels. |
