Show County Commission authorizes Greenbelt application extension Iron County Commission setting in special session on Wednesday, Dec. 31, authorized the extension for Greenbelt applications to March 1, 1976, without penalty. The action was taken at the request of Iron County Assessor H. Dee White and by authority for extension of the penalty period by legislative action. In other action at the meeting the County also authorized the hiring of Michael Parks as a Deputy Iron County Attorney. The appointment will be on a six month trial basis and was authorized on recommendation of Iron County Attorney Hans Chamberlain. In other action the Commission: Com-mission: --Approved license applications ap-plications including a dance hall license for Valley Pump Corp., and a grocery store license, including the sale of beer in sealed containers for consumption con-sumption off premises to Arthur G. and Clyde F. Harding doing business as Valley Market. The business is located on the Minersville road in Cedar Valley. -Awarded bids for the purchase pur-chase of a tractor and a belly dump trailer . for the road department. The firm of Frehauf Corp. of Salt Lake City was low bidder for the trailer at $14,388, and Utah White Trucks, Inc., also of Salt Lake City submitted the low bid for the truck at $32,391. " "--Met with a delegation- from the Escalante Valley at which a request for funds to provide maintenance of the Community Center were made as well as a request for a cement or blacktop pad for the Beryl Airport where planes could be parked for service. The Commission assured the delegates that the problem of maintenance - which previously had been budgeted through recreation funds - would be considered and consideration given to the request. The commission com-mission also indicated that ef forts would be made through the Road Department to provide the service area for the airport. -Approved a recommendation by Iron County Sheriff Ira Schoppmann to purchase a used vehicle from the State Highway Patrol for use by the Department. Depart-ment. The purchase was , approved ap-proved at a cost of $1700 and the Sheriff reported that the purchase pur-chase would adequately equip the department for the coming year.-- , --Approved a subdivision application for Terry Morton for Winter Woods Subdivision, Unit I, located west of Summit. -Authorized the signing of a lease agreement with Cedar City for the use of land owned by Iron County near the Iron County Road Sheds north of Cedar City for which Cedar City is using for a dog pound. Chairman Graham MacDonough was authorized to execute the lease. |
