Show Iran County Extension Service conducting one-on-one basketball clinic The 4-H one-on-one basketball program gets underway Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Cedar Jr. High School Boys Gym. According to Lynn Esplin, Iron County Extension Agent, practices, lessons, and competition com-petition will be held each Saturday at 1 p.m. through Febr. 14. On February 14 County playoff's play-off's will be conducted, then on February 21 the Five County Area play-off's will be held in Cedar City. On February 28 area winners in each age group will compete for state honors at Utah State University in Logan. The 4-11 one-on-one basketball program is a statewide effort being sponsored by the Extension Ex-tension Service and the Athletic Department of Utah State University. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for youth to participate in a structured struc-tured basketball program which will teach them important educational concepts while providing an opportunity for fun and individual competition. Young people ages 9-14 are eligible to participate. |
