Show Santa was a little late arriving at the Cedar Junior High School. But for faculty members and staff the delay was well worth it as they were presented with a letter during an Appreciation Day event Monday. The letter, which was caught in Santa's bag, causing the delay, follows: Dear Santa, This letter is going to be kind of different and special too. I guess you've heard of the minority groups and how they need special help. This is probably one you haven't heard about. Things have been kind of tougi? for this group. In the first place they don't have a very fancy house. Their job is not the most glamorous, it's kind of a grubby job. They just kind of work in the middle. The people we are talking about are grown-ups and their children are hard to manage. These people just hardly ever get any praise.. .somebody is always mad at them. They didn't come from any foreign land and are quite ordinary looking and ' just sort of look like anybody else and w,e think they have just kind of been forgotten. We have been thinking real hard about what kind of gift would mean the most to them. And you know what our parents say when we ask them what they want for Christmas. They just say, they want us to be good and show them a little appreciation. And we guess to get the thing worked out we'll have to tell you who they are.. .they are the teachers of the Cedar City Junior High. And we think what they would like most, would be a whole bunch of parents to sometimes tell them how much they appreciate them. We know you can't fill your toy bag all up with new parents for Cedar City, so maybe you can make do with the old ones, if you send your little elves around to tell them of the plan. I guess we'll have to tell you who we are now. We are the students at Cedar City Junior High... maybe we're the ones who cause some of the problems for our teachers. It seems like we're just kind of in the middle of the race from first grade to high school. And you know how it is, people watch the start of the race and the finish, but kind of relax in the middle, especially when the race is kind of long. And that's why we have this special feeling for the Junior High Teachers, because they're right in the middle of the race with us: I guess that's about all, Students from Cedar City Junior High and PTSA Officers. |
