Show Parowan City Issues Warning to Power Delinquents LETTER TO THE EDITOR: The following notice is directed di-rected to residents of Parowan Paro-wan City who are delinquent in the payment of power and water rentals, and quotes the ordinance on this matter. City officials request that it bo published as it appears in the ordinance book. Payment of Electric Rentals Section 313 All rentals for electric current cur-rent shall be paid for monthly at the end of each and every month during which electric current has been supplied. If any person shall fail, neglect or refuse to pay for electric rnrrpnt fnnished and sold to him by Parowan City by the 20th of the month following the month during which the service was rendered it shall be the duty of the collector of light and water rentals to immediately im-mediately report such delinquency delin-quency to the chief electrician or the mayor. The City may charge a penaly for accounts that are delinquent which penalty shall amount to five per cent of the delinquency. As soon as such delinquency is reported to the chief electrician, electri-cian, it shall be his duty to immediately shut off and disconnect dis-connect electric current from the premises of such delinquent delin-quent and he shall forthwith report such action to the collector. col-lector. Before any electric current cur-rent shall again be furnished to any premises, all charges against the premises that are due and payable to the city for electric current or any service, ser-vice, material or supplies pertaining per-taining thereto, furnished thereof, must have been paid in full, together with the sum of $2.50 additional for the expense ex-pense of reconnecting the electric elec-tric current with the premises. If the chief electrician shall neglect, fail or refuse to shut of the electric current from the premises, as herein provided, provid-ed, he shall be held liable for all charges accruing from the time such delinquents were reported to him and the same may be deducted from any compensation or salary due or to become due to him from the city. This ordinance was passed by the city council on April 9, 1962 and approved by its mayor Osmer K. Nielsen. The Mayor and the City Council at the present time, interpret this ordinance to mean that as soon as the de-linquet de-linquet power bills are presented pre-sented in written form to the chief electrician, Mr. Ross Guymon, by the collector of light and water rentals, Mrs. Metta B. Mortensen, this list is to serve as a guide to Mr. Guymon, and he shall at this time disconnect all the meters that furnish electric service to the homes of the names on the list given to him. Under no circumstances shall Mr. Guymon Guy-mon be responsible to contact the people involved, or to make any arrangement for payment of the delinquent charges, such arrangements shall be made only in the City office with the official Collector Collec-tor of light and water rentals.
