Show Bertha Jane C. Petty Succumbs; Final Rites Friday MRS. FRANK H. PETTY Bertha Jane Cottam Petty 74, wife of the late Dr. F. H. Petty, died Monday, June 19, at the Valley View Medical Center of natural causes. She was born in St. George Nov. 13, 1892, a daughter of George Thomas and Rachel Overton Holt Cottam. She married Dr. Frank H. Petty Sept. 11, 1911 in the St. George LDS Temple. Dr. Petty passed away on March 13, 1965. She received her education in St. George schools. Always active in the LDS Church she sang in the choir, was in the Stake Primary Presidency, taught Primary and was a Relief Re-lief Society Visiting Teacher. The Petty's were also outstanding out-standing supporters of community com-munity activities and particularly particu-larly were a part of the growth and development of the College Col-lege of Southern Utah. Survivors include six sons and daughters: Dr. Reed C. Potty and Mrs. Scott (Lora) George, both of Van Nuys, Calif.; Acil B. Petty, Salt Lake City; Mrs. C. H. (Beatrice) Shaw, Alexandria, Va.; Frank Junior Petty, Cedar City; Mrs. Dan (Patricia) Magleby, Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters: Mrs. Albert Al-bert (Mary Ann) Miller, and Mrs. Antone (Vilate) Prince j of M. George; James F. Cot- tarn, Veyo; Mrs. C. B. (Maggie) (Mag-gie) Petty of Salt Lake City j and Dr. J. Milton Cottam, i Sherman Oaks, Calif. Four i great-grandchildren and 21 grandchildren, also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23 at 2 p. m. in the Second-Eighth Ward Chapel. Cha-pel. Friends may call at the nilsbury Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p. m. and Friday noon until time of services. The family has reouested that contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Primarv Children's hospital. Salt Lake City. |
