Show Hal Norton Takes Athletic Director Post to St. George Harold (Hal) Norton, former Cedar City High School coach, now studying for his master's degree at Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, has been named as the director of athletics and physical education at Dixie Junior College. The appointment was an-lounced an-lounced by Dixie president c erron C. Losee. Norton served as football, wrestling, and track and field ;oach at Cedar High School for ten years. During that period of time he won four region football titles; won four regional wrestling titles and placed second in state finals twice. In track and field, the Ked-men Ked-men won the region title seven sev-en of 10 years and won the state championship six times, finished second twice, and third once. Norton will replace Allen B. Laidlaw, former athletic director, who will continue as Dean of Students. Laidlaw formerly held both positions. He is married to the former Uldene Adams of Cedar City, and they have three children. |
