CSU Drama Students Plan New York Trip i Thirty members of the College 'of Southern Utah Drama Club and three advisors will leave Cedar Ce-dar City Friday, March 11 for a 12-day trip to New York City and Washington, D. C. The visit will include attendance attend-ance at five top Broadway stage productions including "Funny Girl", "Barefoot in the Park", "Hello Dolly" and "The Royal Hunt of the Sun." The group has been invited to meet Julie Harris, star of "Skyscraper", following the performance. iThey will see the Metropolitan Opera production of "The Barber of Seville" and attend the traditional tra-ditional Easter broadcast at Radio Ra-dio City Music Hall. A special tour of CBS Broadcast Broad-cast Center has been arranged and tickets made available to "What's My Line" and "The Ed Sullivan Show" television productions. pro-ductions. The group will view the St. Patrick's Day Parade on 5th Avenue Ave-nue and visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. Cathe-dral. Visits will be made to the United Nations, Statue of Liber-y, Liber-y, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Rocke-feller Plaza, Times Square, Lincoln Lin-coln Center, Central Park and New York Stock Exchange. The trip will include a day in Washington, D. C, where Senator Sena-tor Frank E. Moss (D-Utah) will conduct the group on a special tour of the city and to the Senate Sen-ate and Capitol Buildings, Smithsonian Smith-sonian Institute, Washington monument, Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. During a similar trip several years ago members of the Drama Club met the late President Kennedy Ken-nedy and had a personal visit with him while in the nation's capital. Arrangements for the tour are under the direction of Professor Fred C. Adams, CSU drama director. di-rector. In addition to Mr. Adams, those making the trip are Cheryl Grogersen, Ilene Warby, Joan Hargrave, Barbara Cox, Phyllis Davis, Susan McDonough, Janet Corbridge, Judy Sherratt, Carol Petty, Hone Seegmiller, Helen Pace, Ted Munford and Norman Lister, all of Cedar City; Tauna Lyman Monticello; Shannon Williamson, Wil-liamson, Craig Crowther and George Bolger, Salt Lake City; Pat Dame, Karen Hamblin and Paula Judd, Kanab; Kay Richard Rich-ard and Connie Otteson, Papson; Louise Excell, Springdale; Hiia-ka Hiia-ka Long and Roberta Aisaka, Hawaii; John Lindberg, Tooele; Greg Langley, Boulder City, Nev.; Tarey Leavett and Gene Backus, Las Vegas; Don Fullerton, Pioche, and Nick Carter, Placerville, Calif. Mrs. Luella Gregersen and Mrs. Bessie Dover of Cedar City will accompany the group as advisors. |
