Show Wild Burro Chase Is Planned by Iron Rangers Riding Club The sports event of the season for members of the Iron Rangers Riding Club will soon get underway under-way near Lake Meadow in Nevada. Neva-da. Over 50 men will truck their horses to "Pacoon Ranch" on the Dell Alan property. After choosing an appropriate camp site sometime before noon Friday, March 18, a hunt for wild Burro will begin. The Burro, although al-though undomesticated, are really real-ly not too wild and once captur-I captur-I ed are of a mild nature. In spite j of the rugged chase for the animal, ani-mal, and the struggle which he puts up to keep from being roped into anything, the Burro becomes very meek and provides mostly fun and physical activity for the riding club members. After most Burro chases, a few of the Burro have been brought back to Iron County where they are turned loose. According to those club members who have participated in the hunt before, not one of the animals has been killed by a club member. Stanley Slack, last year's president, is chairman of the chase. The Burro Chase had been scheduled for last week but because be-cause weather conditions were not in keeping with camping out it was postponed until the third week end in March. It is a general gen-eral rule that wives of Iron Rangers Rang-ers do not accompany their husbands hus-bands on this particular hunt, although al-though they are invited to many similar excursions during tho summer months. |
