Show Harold Boyce Wins All-Events Title In Ragtime Classic Harold Boyce, Music Instructor at trie Cedar City High School, won the most coveted a 11 -events title in the Holiday Ragtime Clas-lc Clas-lc Bowling Tournament that Just closed at the Cedar Bowling Lanes. 'I'he tournament is sponsored by the Iron County Men's Bowling Bowl-ing Association. Boyce rolled the ioiiowing series to win the title: team, blS; doubles, 621 and singles, sin-gles, 567 for an ail-events total of 18H. Gordon Twitchell was a close second with series ot b34; 605 and 571 for a total of 18i0. Leo Canoon won third in the all-events all-events with a 1783 total for the three events. The Sandbaggers won the team event with a 3124 three-game series. The team consisted of Mike Hulet, captain; Dick Cripps, Cjuetiton Bowler, Kent Dover and Steve Asmus. They rolled the highest tournament team series of any tournament held at the Cedar Bowling Lanes to date. Second Se-cond place honors went to the Adam Bombs, last year's defending defend-ing champions, and the following follow-ing men make up the team: Mel Adam, captain, Gordon Twitchell, Grant Seegmiller, Dudley Alger and Virgil K. Smith. Leo Cahoon won first place honors In the Singles event with a C77 handicap three-game series. The following placed well in the singles: George Fetty, 675 series, Gordon Twitchell, 668 series; Mike Hulet, 653 merles; Dukii Gordon, 644 series, and Dudley Alger, 635 series. Alger and Fetty teamed up to win first place in the doubles event with a 1328 handicap series. ser-ies. Randy Rosenberg and Dick Cripps placed second with a 12G8 series and Vinal Perkins and Wayne Maag from St. George placed third with a 1245 series. Duke Gordon and Vlrg Smith were only two pins out of third place with a 1213 series. Oddities in ti e tournament included in-cluded Grant Seegmiller and Harold Boyce rolling 3 Identical series in the Doubles Event of 1214 each. Boyce rolled the highest high-est scratch game withh a 270 game and Gordon Twitchell had the highest scratch series with a 653 series. |
