L . i GARTH ALLAN JONES Elder Garth Allan Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Jones has been called to serve a two year mission In Norway. A farewell testimonial has been scheduled for 6:30 p. m.. Sunr'av. January 10th In the Cedar West Stake, Ninth Ward. The family I welcomes all interested ln attending at-tending the farewell. Elder Jones graduated from Cedar City High School In 1963 and is a four-year seminary ; graduate. During high school, he i participated in musical activities, I having been a member of a male I quartet and performing a solo part in the musical production of I "Oklahoma." He was a yearbook staff member mem-ber his Junior year of high school and attended sum-.tT (ournalism workshop at Brigham Young University Uni-versity before going on to serve as yearbook editor when a senior. Active in sports, Elder Jones i was a member of the tennis team and participated in the wrestling l tournament and served as pep I master In high school. He has also completed one vear j at College of Southern Utah where, as an International Folk Dance Club member, he took part with the Shakespearean Folk Dancers at the IfHVl Shake-spoaroan Shake-spoaroan Festival. In conjunction conjunc-tion with his schooling at CSU. he completed otlp year of the LDS ; Institute program. The testimonial program lias been planned with representatives representa-tives I mm each phase of Elder Jones' life to participate: neighborhood, neigh-borhood, school f.'ieiiv. em ployment and church affiliations. Jones will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City, January llth and will fly to Norway, Mon-; Mon-; day, Jan. IS.
