Show Lettermen's Club Asks Permission For Junior Varsity Meet The Lettermen's Club of Cedar High has been working towards the possibility of sponsoring a junior varsity basketball tournament tour-nament this year. A letter has been sent to the region board in order to gain approval of the tournament. The club has tried for the past two years to get a tournament of this kind going but has been unable to do so. The tournament would be made up of the top teamd in both the northern and southern divisions divi-sions of region eight. Details as to the date and travel tra-vel expenses of the teams will have to wait until official approval ap-proval is'given. The club is also looking forward for-ward to sponsoring their second annual Junior High track meet this spring. The first one was held two years ago and was a big success with favorable comment com-ment coming from all coaches who brought participants and many others who were not here expressed interest in the meet. The meet was not held last year because of weather and track difficulties. , The club sponsors the meet to stimulate interest in track in junior high students to upgrade the track program in high school when these students enter high j school. I The club is also working on an intramural program that will get underway soon. I I |
