Show I NEWS FROM NEWCASTLE by Norma Christens- We are having such lovely weather that it almost makes you feel guilty when so much of the country is in such terrible storms and fl'xds. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart and family were holiday visitors in Nephl, at the home of Shirley's brother and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Esplln. I Mr. and Mrs. Blaine (Cleo) Ap-plegate Ap-plegate and family of Blanding were holiday visitors at the home of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Ster-ling Tullls. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and family were recent visitors in Lakewood, Calif., at the home of Nor ma's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Deem. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Valora of LaPuente, visited at the Christensen home and drove on down to California with Boyd and Norma. Recent visitors at the Warren Piatt home were James L. Prince of New Harmony, Robert Piatt of Parowan and Mrs. Roberta Clark and daughter Bonnie of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Harrison were happy to have their entire family together for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Harrison and family were here( from St. George, Reed and his family from Enterprise, Lamond and his family from Henderson, and Merrill and his family from Cedar City. Other holiday visitors visit-ors at the Harrison home were Mrs. Luzon Forsyth and two youngsters from Cedar City, and Mr. and Mrs. Page Knell from Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Trusten Hart and family were visitors last week in Salt Lake City at the home of Clara's brother and his family, I Mr. and Mrs. Thell Stratton. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Seals and family of Tooele were visitors last week at the home of their mother. Mrs. Effie Beacham. They also visited at the George Beacham home. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Thomas and family of Enterprise were holiday visitors at the home of their mother, Mrs. Cassie Christensen. Chris-tensen. Mrs. Christensen spent New Year's day In Enterprise at the Thomas home. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart were Shirley's brother and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Esplin of Vernal, Ver-nal, and her Bister and family, : Mrs. Lucy Sorensen of Cedar. Gloria and LaNita Jolley, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George Jolley of Cedar City were visitors last week at the Russell Christen- I sen home and with other friends in town. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet and family were week end visitors visit-ors in Mesquite, Nev., at the home of Nita life's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Reber. They also visited in St. George with Norman's Nor-man's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hart were Sunday visitors at the home of their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. William Hart, where the family fa-mily celebrated Nellle'i birthday with a family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Lydia) Morton and family of Summit were Christmas visitors at the ! home of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison, bringing the family fa-mily all together for the holiday. Later during the holidays, Albert and Iva and Marsha Journeyed to California to visit with friends and relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Christensen Christen-sen and son Stephen were Sunday Sun-day visitors in Leeds, at the home of Katherine's folks, Mr. and Mrs. David Stirling. The Escalante Valley PTA sponsored the New Year's eve dance held In the Valley Recreation Recrea-tion hall. Herb Knell's orchestra furnished the music and there was a very large crowd in at- tnrtuice. |
