Show Paiute Indians Offer Cattle Grazing Privileges ior Sale The Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians In-dians has authorized the sale of grazing privileges for 300 head of cattle on their reservation. The reservation is located in the Arizona Ari-zona Strip west of Fredonia, and is under the jurisdiction of the Hopi Indian Agency, Keams Canyon, Can-yon, Arizona. The land on which the grazing privileges are being sold is known as Unit No. 3, the South Kaibab Unit, consisting of 32,927 acres, having a carrying capacity capaci-ty of 300 head of cattle year long. The permit period will be for one year beginning April 9, 1965 and terminating April 8, 1966. Minimum Mini-mum acceptable fees will be $15.60 per head or a total of $1680.00. Bids must be accompanied accom-panied by a cashier's check, certified cer-tified check, draft or money order or-der for 25 per cent of the bid price. The proposals submitted for the grazing privileges will be opened open-ed at the Hopl Indian Agency at 2:00 p. m. on January 25. The final award will be made by the Area Director of the Phoe nix Area Office after the proposals propos-als have been abstracted and submitted to him. Interested parties may obtain further Information by writing the Hopi Indian Agency, Keams Canyon, Arizona, or there will be a representative from the agency at the Pipe Springs National Monument on January 14, 1965 from 9:00 a. m. until noon to discus dis-cus terms of the offer. |
