Show Building Officials Hold Bi-Monthly Meeting Approximately 26 members of the Utah Chapter of the Interna, tlonal Conference of Building Of. flclals met In Cedar City'on Friday, Fri-day, May 10 for their bl-month-ly meeting. Conducting the meeting meet-ing was Warren M. Cox, Cedar City building Inspector and pres. Ident of the chapter. Mayor Arnold Anderson wel-' wel-' corned the visitors and their wives and talked to the group on the importance of planning and zoning. He emphasized the lm- portance of a good Inspection program and indicated that Cedar Ce-dar City has adopted the International Inter-national Building Code to govern the inspector. Harold Hargreaves also appeared appear-ed as guest speaker. He directed direct-ed his remarks to "Code Enforcement." En-forcement." Following, a question and answer an-swer period was held that developed de-veloped Into a discussion on planning and zoning. It was. agreed by the building officials! that zoning was the biggest prob-1 lem and that enforcement of construction con-struction codes drew less criticisms criti-cisms than any other phases of the program. Entertainment for the evening was furnished by local talent Including In-cluding a dance by Mori and Jerri Jer-ri Graff, and an accordion duet by Rex and Alice Ahlstrom. Next meeting of the Utah chapter will be held on July 10 at Logan with Lynn Baker in charge of arrangements. It was annouced st the conclusion of the meeting. |
