Show Joseph S. Thompson Succumbs After Lengthy Illness Joseph S. Thompson, 75, former resident of Hamilton's Fort, died Wednesday, May 22, In St George following a lingering illness. The family announced that fu. neral services will be held Friday, Fri-day, May 24, at 2 p. m. in the St. George Fifth Ward chapel. Burial will be In the St George cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time for the services Friday. Mr. Thompson was born Nov. 14, 1880, a son of William Henry and Emma Cottam Thompson. He Married May T. Jones, Dec. 28, 1905 In the St. George temple. tem-ple. Mrs. Thompson died In 1911. On Oct. 2. 1912 he married Grace Bleak, who survives him. An active worker in the LDS church he fulfilled a mission to New Zealand and has been active ac-tive in various activities all his life. He was a farmer and poul-tryman poul-tryman living in Hamilton's Fort most of his life. He has resided In St George for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife, six sons, W. Howard, Warsaw, Ind., Wayne J., Ogden; T. LaVon and Paul W., St. George; J. Ralph and Willard B., Cedar City; two daughters, Mrs. Reed (May) Fair, banks. Salt Lake City and Mrs. Dwaln (Bernlce) Haacke, St. George. One sister, Emma Little, St. George; and four brothers, George and Ezra, St. George; Wllford, LaVerkin and Samuel A. of Los Angeles, and 47 grandchildren grand-children and one great grandchild grand-child also survive him. |
