Show AS I SEE n The line of thinking of our Washington Congressmen and also al-so the thinking of a lot of our aUte governments as to what Is called the Inflation scare Is very amusing Indeed. I am sure that or congressmen and state officials offi-cials haven't even given any thought as .to what is causing or so-called Inflation. If they bad they wouldn't raise their mm salaries nearly every time they meet together. Nearly every, thin? Is Inflated but the commodities com-modities which the livestock man and farmers produce. Their commodities com-modities are a choap as they were In the years of 1937 to 1942. Yet, their labor costs have gone ap 500 But of course, the' Benson Ben-son and Elsenhower program was to cheapen commodities, arid I am sure that they are doing a good Job. . - It Is nearly Impossible for the fanner or livestock people to eny ploy any labor because if they did. at the prices that they are getting for their products they would go broke faster than they now are. I see where Ike is going on television to appeal to the public pub-lic for $3 billion dollars to send over to foreign nations on a good will mission. I am sure that we can't buy peace for long. As I see it, in order to stop inflation we should start in the White House first; then come on down to state and local governments. govern-ments. We should cut back their salaries or else raise the price of the commodities that the farmer far-mer and livestock people produce to at least meet their cost of pro. ductlon. It is bad government to Inflate one segment of business and deflate another segment of business. P.S.: We only produce 25 of the wool we need. Now I understand under-stand that our agriculture department de-partment is bartering some 3 million pounds of our domestic wool to go over to Turkey for some so-called strategic goods that they have, in order to kill some other industry that we have. I am sure we should stop our Washington bureaucrats from further destroying our great American industry, and also stop their free trade policy. Clarence Lamoreaux |
