Show News in Brief By Marileen Austin Mr. and Mrs. Bernus Barlow and family have sold their farm and are moving to Leeds where Burnus will work for the State r.oad Commission. The Barlows have been residents of Escalante Valley for over 10 years. They have many friends here and w& will all be sorry to see them go. Mr. Barlow is the Democratic chairman of the Richland Precinct. Pre-cinct. The farm was bought by the Gentry Dairy from St George. One of the six Gentry brothers who own the dairy will make his home here with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Nyal Bosshardt are the proud parents of a new baby boy, Vernon Dell, born on May 7 at the Iron County Hospital. Hospi-tal. The baby is the 7th grandchild grand-child of Mr. and Mrs. John Bosshardt Boss-hardt and the first grandchild of Eileen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Stowells. George Geftakys of VVhittler, Calif, was the week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Shelley are here In the valley for a two or three week visit and to attend to business matters pertaining to their farm. The Escalante Valley Women's Club held its meeting at the Escalante Es-calante Valley School house on Thursday, May 25. After the business bus-iness meeting the time was turned turn-ed over to the Campfire girls who were the hostesses. There were songs and games and delightful refreshments for all who attended. attend-ed. Mrs. Grace Tucker was In the Iron County Hospital for a few days last week suffering from pneumonia. Mrs. Tucker is home and convalescing now and Is said to be In better health. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Barlocker, Jack Moyle, Miss Csrma Taylor, and Don Applegate attended the Stake MIA Board meeting at Enterprise last Sunday while Mrs. Otto Fife and Mrs. Georgia Moyle attended the Stake Primary Pri-mary Board meeting. Master Kent Holt, son of Mr and Mrs. H. Wayne Holt, had his tonsils removed last week. Bill O'Neil, who Is stationed In Waco, Texas, was called to Delta last week to speak at a funeral. On his way back to his base he spent a week with his mother, Mrs. Roea Romero. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gardner were honored last week with the visit of Mrs. Gardner's father, W. B. Bryant of California.
