Show Steel Company Plan Pays Dividends for Helpful Suggestions PROVO Utah employees of Columbia-Geneva Steel Division collected nearly $15,000 during the the first full year of U. S. Steel's new Employee Suggestion Plan, L. F. Black, manager of Utah operations, announced here today. The plan is celebrating Its first anniversary this week. Climaxing the year's cash awards was the payment of $915.20 largest ever paid In Utah for a single suggestion to three employees of Geneva Works on the final day of the program's first year. The plan, which covers hourly and certain salaried employees. Is designed to stimulate constructive thinking think-ing and to award Individual Ingenuity In-genuity and creativeness. At Columbia Iron Mining Company Com-pany In Cedar City, an estimated 150 employees submitted 42G suggestions sug-gestions during the year. Of these, awards totaling $1,735 have been paid on 91 suggestions, sugges-tions, with many still under active ac-tive consideration. An estimated $1,200 is expected to be paid on some 17 additional suggestions that are awaiting final approval. The average award for each accepted ac-cepted suggestion at Columbia Iron Mining Company totals $18.-46. |
