Show Intermountain Area's Top Wrestlers To Appear on Cedar City Card May 17 Through the combined efforts nation in the professional wrest- of the BPOE Lodge No. 1556 and the College of Southern Utah athletic ath-letic department an outstanding wrestling card featuring top talent tal-ent in the Intermountain area, will be staged at the CSU field-house field-house Saturday evening, Mav 17 at 8 o'clock. Three bouts have been set up featuring top wreslers from the Salt Lake City area who are featured fea-tured on telecasts from the Coliseum Coli-seum every Friday evening. Heading the list of prominent wrestlers will be Tony Silipinl, 228 pounder from Rochester, N. Y., who was in 1957 Voted the outstanding rookie in the entire ' ? i - rz . Silipinl will meet, In a two out of three fall contest, "Bib" Mike Maxurke, who tips the scales at 230 pounds and who has been active In professional wrestling circles for a number of years In addition to appearing appear-ing in several motion pictures cut of Hollywood, where he claims his home. John Gaiz, one of the top wrestlers wres-tlers of the area, will meet "Bad Man" Tresh Phillips of Columbus, Ohio in the semi-main event. These two men will battle In a twoout-of-three fall contest with a 45 minute time limit. Third match of the evening will pit Bob Hess of Milwaukee, 218 pounds, against Eddie Mon-tez Mon-tez of Mexico City. Admission charges for the bouts have been set at $1.50 for rindside, $1.00 general admission, 75 cents for students and 25 cents for children under 12 |
