However, owing to near accidents ac-cidents and hazards on the hike it was decided to try another type of en,trtammont tn's year- The East Elementary teachers called on the Community Recreation Recrea-tion class of the CSU under the direction of LaVeve Whetten, to assist and the program developed into a two-fold activity. The class from the college organized or-ganized ten community type games for members of the fourth, fifth and sixth grades at the school to participate in. The 200 students were then divided Into 20 teams and two teams were placed at each game to compete against one another. At 10-mlnute Intervals the students stu-dents were changed from one game to another until all 200 students had an opportunity to play each of the 10 games. Thirty-flv students from Mrs. Whetten's class at the college designed the program as a practical prac-tical application test for the class members when they came to the school to supervise the afternoon's after-noon's activities.
