Show Coordinating Council Meeting Conducted ESCALANTE VALLEY at a special general Coordinating Council meeting May 7 residents of the Escalante Valley voted to accept the recommendation of the building committee for Increasing In-creasing the size of the stage in the new recreation building now under construction. It was flt that the growth In size of school classes and community grot ps which would be using the stage, in the time since the plans were initially drawn up, made an increase in-crease in the size highly deslra-! ble. It is planned to construct a three foot addition across the front of the stage, as this can be done without making any oth- j er structural changes. The Council heard a report' from Mrs. Miriam McGarry, whoi was assigned to take charge of plans and arrangements for the painting and decorating in the new building. Mrs. McGarry re-1 ported that a representative ofj the L and M Decorators in Ce- dar City had spent seven hours going over the building with her and she submitted a detailed report re-port on estimated costs and suggested sug-gested color schemes for the decision de-cision of the building committee. commit-tee. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson now residing in Seligman, Ariz., had returned to the valley fori the purpose of donating to the Coordinating Council all of their equipment still remaining here, to be sold for the benefit of the building fund. No tabulation of this equipment is currently avail- jable; however this generous gift should net the building fund sev- j erl hundred dollars.
