Show Experts Secured ' To Address City PTi Groups Parents and Parent Teacher Association representatives are asked to circle May 27 and Mav JS as special ITA activity days. On May 27 Mrs. Hazel Stevens, nutritionist for the Utah State Department De-partment of health, will be in Cedar Ce-dar City to conduct a nutritional conference. Mrs. Stevens has spent many years in the study of nutrition and comes to speak with valuable experience behind her and a wealth of knowledge to unfold to all of the parents of this area. All phases oi nutrition will be discussed with special emphasis upon meal planning and economy econ-omy buying; the two are most pertinent to all those interested in the well-being of their children. child-ren. The conference has been planned plan-ned to take place following the closing of school so that those with small children will better be able to leave their homes for the sessions which are to be held May 27 at 9:30 to 11:30 a. m. and from 2:00 p. m. until 4:00 p. m. j A question and answer period is planned so that any problem j which individuals might have may receive attention. On Wednesday evening, May 28, 8:00 p. m. Dr. Samuel McLaughlin, Mc-Laughlin, Dean of the College of Education at the University of Utah, will speak on "Curricula for Our Times." Dr. McLaughlin will be in Cedar City May 27, 23. 29 In conjunction with the Spring Workshop being held for all Iron County Teachers. The meeting on Wednesday has been opened to the public and all parents are urged to attend. at-tend. It Is an opportunity to learn more of the philospohy of education educa-tion from one who is well trained train-ed In the field and who has been working with the training of teachers for several years at the University. It will also be of Interest In-terest to all parents to be better informed on the projected educational educa-tional program which will be put into effect next year. |
