Show College Scholarships Await Worthy 4-H Club Members 4 H Club members are eligible to compete for college scholarships scholar-ships In .'.-H soil and water conservation, con-servation, It was announced today to-day by' Iron County Agent Wallace Wal-lace Sjoblom. A total of 16 $100 college scholarships schol-arships will be awarded to 4-II club members this year for best achievement In the field of 4-H soil and water conservation and the 4-H safety program. The scholarships together with expense paid trips to the National Na-tional 4-H Club Congress, are offered as an incentive award to boys and girls throughout the nation. Donor of the soil and water conservation awards Is the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company; Com-pany; the safety awards are provided by General Motors. Both concerns have supported 4-H work for well over a decade, re- ports the National Committee on Boys and Girls Club Work. While the 4-Her's have their sights set on winning, the awards are not the chief goal, the national na-tional committee pointed out. The objectives of 4-H are: to develop de-velop good citizenship and leadership; lead-ership; to contribute to the wel-fore wel-fore of the community; to 'learn by doing;" and to achieve the best results in individual project pro-ject work. Information regarding enrollment enroll-ment In the soil and water conservation con-servation and safety 4-H programs pro-grams may be obtained from the Iron County extension office, located lo-cated at the Federal Building In Cedar City, or from your local 4-H club leaders.
