Show .flnnual Auctions Place Little Leaguers The annual auction for players In the Cedar City Little League baseball program was held Monday Mon-day evening In a session that kept managers busy until near midnight, according to Morgan Rollo, player-agent. In addition to the selection of players by the managers of the six participating teams, a discussion discus-sion ensued, led by Jeague president presi-dent Lester Heyborne, regarding league policy. The question arose as to the incorporation of surrounding sur-rounding communities such as Summit, Kanarraville, New Harmony Har-mony and others into the league. At the present time the boundaries boundar-ies as filed with the national organization do not include these communities and the decision de-cision was reached to limit boys participating to the now existing exist-ing boundaries. Managers under the player-selection system vie for players from a preferred list submitted by each of the managers. Each manager Is given 10,000 points plus what he might have Jeft from previous years' auctions and bidding proceeds. However, all bids remain secret and only the names of those selected for the individual teams are released by th player-agent. Most of the six teams are in need of five or six boys to fill their rosters to the necessary 15 players, which they are required to carry. But so that each boy with potential can be given further fur-ther opportunity most of the managers of the teams selected five or six extra players. Rosters must be cut to 15 prior to the league opening on May 28.
