Show Extension Service Accepts Four 4-H Programs Four National 4-H Programs in the field of Home Economics have been accepted by the State Extension Service for 1956. 4-H Club members who excel in the canning, food preparation, clothing and dress revue, will receive valuable awards through the programs. Canning awards are provided by the Kerr Glass Mfg. Corp.; food preparation by the Kelvin-ator Kelvin-ator Division of American Motors Corp.; clothing by Coats & Clark Inc.; and dress revue by the Simplicity Pattern Co. Inc. Four county winners in canning, can-ning, food preparation and cloth-ing cloth-ing are eligible to receive gold-filled gold-filled medals of honor, and medals med-als will be presented to a blue award group in the County Dress Revue. State winners in each of thei four programs will receive all-expense all-expense trip to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago, Nov. 25-29. At the Congress, State Dress Revue winners will participate par-ticipate In the National 4-H Dress Revue. National honors of $300 college scholarships will also be present-ed present-ed to six canning winners, 12 clothing champions', and eight winners in food preparation. The four programs are among the most popular In 4-H Club work. Each year, 187,000 4-Hers enroll In canning projects, 673,-000 673,-000 in clothing, and 600,000 in food preparation. About 350,000 of these carry clothing projects and participate in Dress Revue. The Cooperative Extension Services Ser-vices of the' U. S. Department of Agriculture and Sate Land Grant Colleges conduct the 4-H program, pro-gram, and the awards are coordinated co-ordinated by the National Committee Com-mittee on Boys' and GlrJs Club Work.
