Show ECUR SOIL CUR STRENGTH E Saving Irrigation Water By Leland Carlson Concrete ditch lining is off to a good start this spring. The Parovvan North Fields east stream has lined about 6400 feet. The East Enoch Pump Co. has lined about 4100 feet. The Union Un-ion Field Irrigation Co., about 1G00 feet. The Midvailey Pump Co., 4800 feet. The East Ex'.en-slon Ex'.en-slon Irrigation Co. has lined almost al-most 5000 feet. LaNoir Jones about 1700 feet. The Grimshaw boys of Enoch about 6000 feet and Ehvln Armstrong has lined about 2G40 feet. -- This makes a total of 32,240 ' feet or 6.1 miles. It is estimated that the use of these ditches will result In saving sav-ing at least 257c of the irrigation irriga-tion water and maintenance costs will be greatly reduced. L. F. Luke, president of the East Extension Irrigation Co., said that the savings in maintenance costs will pay for the investment of lining. Financial assistance for this work has been furnished by the County Agricultural Stabilization Stabiliza-tion and Conservation Committee. Commit-tee. Engineering assistance has been furnished by the Soil Con-servation Con-servation Service. Some of the other cooperators of the Iron County Soil Conservation Conser-vation District, who plan to line ditches with concrete this sprinp are: Wavne Holt, Willard Randall. Ran-dall.
