Show ! LETTER TO THE EDITOR Mr. Editor and Fellow Citizens! , ' I am interested in the building of a memorial in memory of the first iron smelter In Utah, and a museum to preserve our pioneer relics. Relics that are already unknown un-known to our late, generation. The old crock churn, with its wooden dash; the candle molds, that our grandmothers used to make candles from mutton tal- low to light their homes; the iron kettles, log chains, plows, wagon wheels, chairs and beds that were so necessary to their way of life and all made by their own hands. These relics of Cedar City plo-neers plo-neers should surely be kept in Cedar City, and we who remember remem-ber the old smelter know it was located at Cedar Creek. This is the place it should be built Cedar Ce-dar City and only Cedar City has" a right to the pioneer relics. It would be very easy to lose this right, so let's get busy. R. H.T. |
