Show Elks Lodge to Hold Mother's Day Program The public has been invited to Mother's Day Services which will be conducted in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1556 at 4 p. m. Sunday to pay appropriate tribute to Motherhood. Sentiments which are universally and nationally Inherent In all people are those 'of filial affection and devotion. This has led to the designation of the -second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. The thoughts of residents of Cedar City will turn, on May 13, to Mother. Charles Ahlstrom, chairman of the occasion stated recently that a prelude of organ music by , Cllve Hartman will begin the services. An address by Exalted Ruler Lee Wood entitled " Rever ence to Mother" will be followed by a vocal solo by Miss Sharon Corry, P.E.R. Rex Harris, an Inspirational In-spirational speaker, wUl give a "Tribute to Mother." The yearly rituals will be conducted by the officers of the local lodge. Also Included In the rrogram will be a piano solo by Pamela Wood, accordion duet by Alice and Rex Ahlstrom; vocal duet by Cindy nd Kathy Loer, and a vocal solo by Cllve Hartman. The service will conclude at about 5 p. m. with a prayer by lodge chaplain John Qulnn. Ahlstrom Ahl-strom also rated that these services ser-vices are usually well attended and certainly very inspiring. All persons are urged to turn and pay their tribute to motherhood. |
