Show Guard Unit Shows Well at Inspection Officers of Headquarters and Headquarters Battery of the 222nd, 2d Field Artillery, Utah National Guard, in Cedar City exfiressed belief this week that a formal Inspector General inspection in-spection of facilities and personnel person-nel conducted Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Armory was equivalent to the inspection of previous years. Lt. Col. Max Dalley, battalion Woodbury, Battery commander, indicated that the inspection made by Maj. Saaid Khalil, a member of the Sixth US Army Inspection team headed by Assistant As-sistant Inspector General, Col. Raymond R, Guehring, was equal to the rigorous inspection of last year for which the Cedar City unit won a superior rating. Major Khalil conducted an inspection in-spection of the armory, materials, supplies, records and administrative administra-tive operations during the day prior to inspecting the officers and men in ranks at the .Wednesday .Wed-nesday evening drill period. During the first hour of the : evening inspection battery mem-, mem-, I'-ts were inspected in ranks, and a ten man group, represent-j represent-j ing the battery and chosen from the ffre direction section, participated parti-cipated in an oral and written examination. Section scored 83 and 23 on the test which dealt with basic military subjects. Second portion of the evening dealt with section studies and Maj. Khalil moved from section to section to complete the full day's activity. Ma.J. Khalil Is one of a four-member four-member inspection team in the state to complete the IG Inspections Inspec-tions of all Utah Army National Guard units. Inspections will continue throughout the state through Dec. 8 after which final results and ratings will be announced from Sixth Army headquarters, Lt. Col. Dalley, indicated. |
