Show Alcoholism Confab Is Slated For Friday Afternoon A conference on Alcoholism will be held Friday, Dec. 8 at the College of Southern Utah, according to Eugene Hardy, chairman of the southern Utah Alcoholism Council, The conference will begin at 1 p. m. and all interested persons per-sons are extended an Invitation to attend. i Participating In the conference will be Col. Lyle Hyatt, superintendent super-intendent of the Utah Highway Tatrol; Dr. William Mason, chairman chair-man of Utah Alcoholism Foundation; Foun-dation; Clyde Gooderham, executive ex-ecutive director of the Utah State Board of Alcoholism: Wally F., a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Anony-mous. Dr. Hoyden C. Eralthewaltc, director di-rector of CSU, will give an address ad-dress of welcome to the conference confer-ence participants. Mr. Hardy pointed out that within the state of Utah alone there nre some 13,500 chronic, alcoholics and that the purpose of the conference Is to discuss ; and consider ways and means of I coping with the problems of the ! alcoholic, 1 , Activities of the Alcoholic ' Council In southern Utah, the ! operation of the assistance cen ter In Cedar City and other prob-lems prob-lems pertaining to the council's operation will also be on the agenda for discussion, Hardy Indicated. |
