Show Howard P. Jlndras, Penney Store Manager Announces Retirement Effective April 30 Howard P. Andrus, manager, of the Cedar City store of thej J. C. Penney Company, announced announc-ed this week his retirement, effective ef-fective April 30. He has served as manager of the Cedar store for nearly six years and will complete 21 years and two months of service with the company on the retirement date. A native of Draper, Andrus moved to Provo when he was 16 years of age and became affiliated affiliat-ed with the Penney Co. In Provo, Pro-vo, serving first as a stockroom boy. While at Provo he advanced to assistant manager and took' over his first store management 1 HOWARD P. ANDRUS at Eexburg, Idaho. He served there for one year, transferred as manager to f.IcCook, Neb., for three years before moving to Cedar Ce-dar City in July 1957 to assume the management of the Cedar City store. Educated in Utah schools he also attended Brigham Young University. Andrus married the former Ila King June 8, 1936 and they have three children, including Mrs. Kent (Bonnie) Klrby, Corvallis, Ore., Mrs. Harold (Renon) Blum, Denver, Colo., and a son Phil Andrus, An-drus, Cedar City. They also have five grandchildren. The Andrus' plan to make Cedar Ce-dar City their home and his one wish is that the golf course can be completed here so that he may play golf. Mr. Andrus has commented that since the family's move to Cedar City both he and his wife have suffered a series of illnesses illness-es "With my. retirement, my wife and I are looking forward to the opportunity to really get to know the people of Cedar City," he stated. Successor to Andrus has not yet been named by the company, he indicated. |
