Show "The Creative Dimensions of a Woman" Theme of "Esther Peterson Day" at College A former faculty member at College of Southern Utah, Es- j ther Peterson, who is now As-. sistant Secretary of Labor Standards Stan-dards and Director of the Women's Wo-men's Bureau for the United' States Department of Labor, will be honored guest on the CSU j Campus Thursday, March 28. For the special occasion, three prominent Utah women will participate par-ticipate In the day which has been flestgnAted as "Esther Tct-erson Tct-erson Day," by those In charge ! I of the activities. Here for the occasion will be Mrs. Algie E. Ballif, Mrs. Edna S. Cannon and Mrs. Betsy F. Vaught The three women will assist In workshop sessions scheduled during the afternoon and will be special guests of the college at other events of the day which will include an assembly at 11 a. m. and a public meeting to be held at 8 p. m. Both. of these events will be staged at the CSU Auditorium. Mrs. Peterson's visit to the CSU campus Is a part of a crosscountry cross-country tour. She is a native of Provo, and was an Instructor at the Branch Agricultural College, now College of Southern Utah, from 1927 to 1929. Mrs. Ballif resides in Provo and represented District Three in the Utah State Huse of Repre- is active in the Utah Federation of Women's Clubs, the Women's Legislative Council of Utah, Delta Del-ta Kappa Gamma and is a member mem-ber of the Education committee for President Kennedy's commission commis-sion on the Status of Women. Mrs. Cannon is a former teacher teach-er in the Cedar City Junior High School. She now makes her home In Clrcleville, Piute County. Coun-ty. She is a member of the state Board of Education and teaches French. English and algebra at Piute High School. She Is active ac-tive In civic affairs and has obtained ob-tained her doctorate in the field of education. A former CSU student, the third guest is a native of Beaver now residing In Salt Lake City where she is merchandising and promotions director for KIPX television te-levision station and Is studying toward a law degree at the University Uni-versity of Utah. Theme of the day-long activity ac-tivity is 'The Creative Dimensions Dimen-sions of a Women." In addition to the assembly and public meeting a workshop on the theme will be conducted at the family living center from 1:30 p. m. to 4 p. m. Directing the workshop will be Mrs. Peterson Peter-son and Mrs. Ballif, Mrs. Cannon Can-non and Mrs. Vaught, serving as research personnel. |
