Cedar Athlete, Gains All-State Recognition in Basketball I Neil Robert, Cedar High's outstanding out-standing athlete In virtually all I S NEIL ROBERTS fields of competition, was recognized recog-nized this past week by being selected to two Class B All-State teams. The Cedar High Redmen cen-1 cen-1 ter was named to both the Salt Lake Tribune All-State First team and to the Deseret News , First team. j The honor was even more sig-; sig-; nlficant considering the fact that j on both all-state first teams, he 1 was the only man selected that did not participate in the Class B tournament held at Salt Lake City this past week. A regular in basketball for the past three years, he won recognition recog-nition in his sophomore year named to an all-sophomore All-State All-State team selected at the state tournament that year. In his Junior and senior years he was named to the First Team Class B ranks. During his senior sen-ior year, Just completed, he averaged av-eraged over 22 points per game, but was equally as effective as a rebounder and team man. Also recognized in Region ten was Craig Barrlck of Hurricane. Barrick was named to the Tribune's Tri-bune's First All-State Team and by the Deseret News, a "small" All-state team was named Including In-cluding Barrick on the first team as well as Ed Gibson, also from Hurricane, on the second. Both are Just 5'8". The Tigers finished finish-ed third in the casaba classic, bringing recognition to the entire en-tire Region Ten. |
