Show CivicLeaderMade Chairman of Music Arts Assn. ROBERT C. HANSEN Announcement was made at the Cedar City Coordinating Council meeting held Monday of the appointment of Robert C. Hansen, to serve as chairman of the Music Arts Committee. The appointment, approved by the membership In attendance, will become affective at the beginning be-ginning of the 1963-64 season, according to Mrs. Marian Hahne, coordinator. Hansen will succeed Dixie Lea-vitt, Lea-vitt, who has served as chairman of the Music Arts Committee for the past two years. A pharmacist, Hansen manages man-ages Drug Center in Cedar City and has been active extensively in community affairs. At the present time he is secretary of the Kiwanls Club, and has just completed two successive terms as president of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a member mem-ber of the Music Arts Committee and is currently a board member mem-ber of the Chamber of Commerce. In February he was honored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce as the Distinguished Service Ser-vice Award recipient for 1963. - In connection with his Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce work he was active with the Five-County Organization Or-ganization and is a charter member mem-ber of the Southern Utah Foundation. Foun-dation. The Music Arts Committee Is responsible for the concert series presented each year as one of the outstanding cultural activities activi-ties of the community. Each year some of the outstanding musical talent of the country is presented, including an annual presentation of the Utah Symphony Sym-phony Orchestra. . . " |
